Starting a business can be a rigorous process from naming the business, to getting proper licensing & permitting, and having an audience to service what you offer. In this blog, we will show you a 3 easy step process to ensure that your company name is available to register your business with the state, online on the major social media platforms, and to purchase a website domain.
Step 1
Think of a few different business names that are unique and represent your brand. It's very important to not have a name that is already trademarked and in use, or sounds too similar to another company's name. It can be a very expensive process to have to rebrand and reprint marketing materials for your business when you get a cease and desist letter.
Step 2
After you have a few business names jotted down, let’s see if the business name is available on Sunbiz (Florida) or if you're in other states on their division of corporations website. We obviously want to make sure no one is actively using the name now. I recommend doing a quick google search as well. After a quick search, you will know if the name you have selected is in use, has any negative reviews, or history attached. If the business name is available, awesome, now we can proceed to the final step.
Step 3
In this step, we can now claim your website url and social media links. This is key later on for print materials, live interviews, and more. You can use this link to search and register your social media accounts.
